The front-engine Javelin is an American, rear-wheel-drive, two-door hardtop car manufactured and marketed by American Motors Corporation, better known as, AMC. The Javelin spanned two generations from 1968 through 1974. The first generation was from 1968 through 1970 and the second generation went from the 1971 through the 1974 model years.
The stylish and sleek AMC Javelin was designed by Dick Teague and was available in a range of trim and engine sizes. The AMC Javelin won the Trans-Am race series in 1971, 1972, and 1976.
